Our Commitment

New Age Industrial, Inc. is committed to ensuring that our website is accessible to people with disabilities. We believe that everyone — regardless of ability — should be able to research our products, request quotes, find technical specifications, and contact our team.

We are working to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA, the internationally recognized technical standard for digital accessibility.

Conformance Status

The WCAG defines requirements for designers and developers to improve accessibility for people with disabilities. It defines three levels of conformance: Level A, Level AA, and Level AAA.

newageindustrial.com is partially conformant with WCAG 2.1 Level AA. "Partially conformant" means that some parts of the content do not yet fully conform to the accessibility standard — see Known Limitations below for specifics. We are actively working to bring all affected pages into full conformance.

What We've Done

As part of our ongoing accessibility work, we have:

  • Built on semantic HTML5 — using native landmarks (<header>, <nav>, <main>, <footer>) and a logical heading hierarchy so assistive technologies can navigate the page structure.
  • Added a "Skip to main content" link on every page so keyboard users can bypass the header and navigation.
  • Labeled all interactive controls — every button, link, icon-only control, and form field has an accessible name (via visible text, aria-label, or an associated <label>).
  • Made the main navigation keyboard-operable — the mega-menu opens on focus as well as hover, so users navigating by keyboard can reach every link without a mouse.
  • Provided alternative text for product images, category artwork, and other meaningful imagery. Decorative icons (next to titles, in card chrome) are explicitly marked as decorative (aria-hidden) so they aren't announced as duplicate content.
  • Implemented modal focus management — the global "Get a Quote" lightbox traps focus inside the dialog while open, closes on Esc, and returns focus to the triggering element on close.
  • Improved color contrast across forms, search UI, and chrome text to meet the 4.5:1 ratio required by WCAG 1.4.3 (Contrast — Minimum) for normal text and 3:1 for graphical components (WCAG 1.4.11).
  • Respected user preferences — our cookie/consent panel honors the browser's stored choices, and analytics tags do not load until consent is granted.
  • Sized form inputs for mobile with 16px text and large tap targets so users with motor impairments and small viewports can complete forms comfortably.

Known Limitations

Despite our efforts, some areas of the site may not yet be fully accessible. We are aware of the following and are working to address them:

  • Legacy PDF documents. Our resource library includes catalogs, spec sheets, and technical documents that were authored before our current accessibility standards. Older PDFs may not have full tagging, reading order, or text alternatives for images. If you need an accessible version of a specific PDF, please contact us using the details below and we will provide it.
  • Third-party embeds. Some pages may include embedded content from third parties (e.g. analytics, tag managers, social widgets, embedded videos). We do not control the accessibility of third-party content but we work with vendors whose products meet accessibility standards wherever possible.
  • Search-result rendering. Our Algolia-powered site search is keyboard-operable; we continue to refine the screen-reader announcements for dynamic result updates.
  • Color palette. A small number of decorative accents in our brand palette sit between 3:1 and 4.5:1 contrast on white backgrounds. We use these only for non-essential decoration (dividers, dots, small chevrons); essential text and interactive elements meet or exceed the AA threshold.

Assessment Approach

New Age Industrial assessed the accessibility of this website using the following approaches:

  • Self-evaluation by our internal team against WCAG 2.1 Level AA success criteria.
  • Code review of semantic structure, ARIA usage, color contrast, and focus management on the global page chrome (layout, header, footer, navigation, search, primary forms, modal dialogs).
  • Manual keyboard testing of navigation, modals, forms, and search.
  • Planned ongoing testing with automated tools (axe DevTools, WAVE, Lighthouse Accessibility) and dedicated screen-reader walkthroughs of additional page templates as part of our regular maintenance.

Compatibility With Browsers and Assistive Technology

newageindustrial.com aims to be compatible with the following:

  • The latest two versions of major browsers: Chrome, Edge, Firefox, and Safari on desktop, iOS, and Android.
  • Common screen readers, including NVDA and JAWS (Windows) and VoiceOver (macOS and iOS). Comprehensive screen-reader testing across every page template is an active and ongoing effort; if you encounter an issue with your assistive technology, please contact us using the details below.
  • Operating-system zoom and browser text-resize up to 200% without loss of content or functionality.
  • Keyboard-only operation (no mouse required) for the primary user flows: browsing products, requesting quotes, finding a sales rep, and contacting the company.

The site is not designed to be compatible with Internet Explorer or any browser that has been end-of-lifed by its manufacturer.
