In the spirit of fostering creativity and pushing the boundaries of design, New Age Industrial (NAI) proudly announces the kick-off of the NAFEM 2025 Custom Product Design Contest! Building on the success of last year’s Custom Equipment Design Contest, we are once again inviting our manufacturer’s representatives from the foodservice industry to join in and share their greatest ideas for custom aluminum equipment.
The 2023 NAFEM Custom Equipment Design Contest brought us the Scrap and Stack. Claudia Harry and Alyssia Wright designed a multi-function, line scrapping cart. They wanted to design a solution that would allow school cafeteria workers to clear the service line more efficiently. The solution they developed in partnership with New Age Industrial’s engineer, Phil Gottstine, is a cart that has a removable trash receptacle on the base, a top with a solid sheet and punched large square hole for scraping food waste into the trashcan, and a rack on the top to hold dirty steamtable pans and sheet pans. The Scrap and Stack allows for an entire line to be cleared in one pass, making just one trip to the dish room.
We are excited for NAFEM 2025 and looking forward to all the creative new ideas.
