The School Nutrition Association (SNA) is a non-profit professional organization that represents school nutrition professionals in the United States. SNA was founded in 1946 and has over 55,000 members. The organization’s mission is to “empower and support school nutrition professionals in advancing the accessibility, quality and integrity of school nutrition programs.” The School Nutrition Association hold its Annual National Conference (ANC) at the Colorado Convention Center in Denver, Colorado from July 9-11, 2023. The conference draws thousands of K-12 school nutrition operators, directors, and professionals from across the country.
SNA ANC is the premier event for school nutrition to learn about the latest trends and best practices in school foodservice. The conference will feature a variety of pre-conference workshops, educational sessions, culinary demos, and exhibits. ANC is also a great opportunity for school nutrition professionals to network with their industry peers and learn from each other. The conference will feature a variety of networking opportunities, including receptions, meet-ups, an opening and closing keynote address, and a fun closing event.
The exhibit hall at ANC is a great place for school nutrition professionals to learn about the latest products and services from school foodservice vendors. The exhibit hall will feature over 800 exhibitors, including foodservice equipment manufacturers, food distributors, and marketing firms. In the Fall of 2022, we launched a Custom Product Design Contest encouraging manufacturer’s representatives to partner with dealers, distributors, consultants, or end users to create a new product to solve an unmet need in the foodservice industry. The winning submission was chosen based off a sketch and description, and the winners was paired up with our engineering team to design and manufacture their product. This labor-saving cart makes after service cleanup a breeze and is ideal for school serving lines, reducing the number of trips from the serving line to the dish room. The Scrap and Stack is a two-tier, open design cart with a waste chute for scraping and disposal, removable waste receptacle, and soiled utensil repository. Built-in storage for empty steamtable and sheet pans makes this the go-to cart for quick and easy serving line cleanup.
The contest winners were Claudia Harry with The Hansen Group and Alyssia Wright, Ed, S., Executive Director of Fulton County Schools in Georgia. We will be hosting a Meet ‘n Greet with Alyssia at Booth #719 on Tuesday July 11 from 10:30AM-Noon. During this director only time frame, we encourage you and your team to swing by the booth to meet her. Her passion for the product she helped design and the way she explains the “why” behind it is unlike anything else! Plus, she’s a school foodservice director and school nutrition advocate, so she understands this industry better than most!
We have re-launched our School Share Cart and will have a purple one on display at SNA ANC 2023. The cart comes with cold food pans that, when frozen, will safely hold food to temperature for 6-8 hours, eliminating the need for ice!
